Post by dribbles » Wed Aug 25, 2004 8:36 am

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/d ... .hoax.html

try using http://trillian.cc

the PRO version is good. i wasn't keen on the ordinary version.

on a side note MYIE2 internet browser. more secure works better than internet explorer.

my internet explorer has been broken since SP2.

 oh its got the pop up blocking n' stuff. but it doesn't seem to screw your computer up

And on that note - I'm glad for SP2 in that respect, IE was a regular pop-up/under minx. Of course, that should have been cleared up a while back.

Go Firefox (except for working with IE-only sites)!

I use popupcop for blocking all those annoying little internet gems (it also kills gohip, wildtangent, gater, comet curser, and pretty much anything else you tell it to).

Sure... it's costs money ($20), but it's worth every single penny (and is customizable beyond belief)!!

I used to run popup cop, but now the google toolbar (you all use it, right??) has a popup blocker built in and is rather cool :)

I don’t, but I'm all elitist and stuffs.

I've had a heck of a time keeping the MSN popup blocking bar offa my pc as well (it keeps installing itself every time there's an upgrade to MSN).

the nvidia videocard drivers have popup blocker built in.

i swear by MYIE2 its more than blocking popups it blocks trojans, dialers and you usual comet cursors and the like.

internet explorer is way to buggy for me. i'm not just being anti-M$ like some. it really cuases me problems.

I run Avant Browser, it's a shell that runs over top of IE that allows you to have multiple tabbed windows in a single window, has popup blocking, and integrated Search tool bar that you can set to use your favorite search engine. Mine is set to Google. It seems to be a bit more stable than IE on it's own. I'm liking it so far. I love the tabbed browsing. Not having a dozen windows mixed in the taskbar is nice, and saves space on the desktop. When I do have to use IE, I have the Google toolbar loaded, like Eve. :)

I'm testing Avant now - not bad, so far.
