The media as it relates to the Olympics are like your buddies that think they are cool by ruining the end of the movie for you, or spouting out every line seconds before the real star delivers.
Besides football, and March Madness, I'm not really that big of a sports fan, but theres something about international competition that is like an addiction for me, I thrive on it. I even watch the Ryder Cup, and IT'S TELEVISED GOLF!!!
Anyways back to the point, due to the huge time difference between here and Athens, everything is on a tape delay, you think the frickin media would throw us a bone, and not tell me the score to every single event in GIANT LETTERS ON EVERY HOME PAGE 9 hours before I get to witness it. My browser was set to MSN by default. I click on internet explorer to goto touchpoint, and there it is PHELPS AND TEAM GETS BRONZE. Yesterday morning PHELPS GETS 2 GOLDS. Driving to work this morning on the radio US GETS 2 MORE MEDALS IN TRAPSHOOTING AND SOME OTHER SPORT (not that I was too mad about that one).
Anyways, at least NBC is not blowing it, on the news they do this thing where they warn you to cover your eyes, and promise they wont say anything aloud... nice job guys.
Long story short, for the next couple of weeks, I'm only listening to cd's and my homepage has been switched to google.
