Very funny!
But in the same way mac users who bitch about windows know nothing about windows, it's obvious this guy doesn't know shit about macs. I've had the very mac I'm writing this on, running for better than two months (that I can recall) without a non-install-related restart.
If he bothered to stop pissing and moaning about working on a mac long enough to learn how to run one, he'd be a lot happier.
He reminds me of Toronto callers I used to get for Adobe, who had "power user" scribed onto their business cards. He is the undisputed master of the ninjaclick technique. But I've known about a million guys like this one: VERY proud of his DOS skills. Get over it. It was twenty years ago.

Hahahahaha it took me a few mins to realize it was actually an Anti-Mac ad! I think market share says all their is to know about which system is better / less expensive / easier to use / more programs / help / fellow users / etc!
Mac's have all but died where we work. I think we actually have one back in the graphics department. So the ratio is about 2,000 PC's to each Mac!

The real humor to be found above is more at the extremists in both camps: the DOS cyborgs vs. the hippie Mac fanatics. Use what ya need and like to get the job done, and know that you'll have to work a little harder to find software for the Mac vs Windows, and have less work to do getting started on a mac vs a win box. My wife and my mother-in-law would probably enjoy macs more.miftah wrote:Very funny!

BTW: What is the "Ninjaclick" technique? I never heard of that one while supporting Windows

You are on target Bug Bud...
Just ask RocketDork what his cube mate thinks of Microsoft! I do like the Mac slogan "A computer for the rest of us"...
I also think we have reached a parodox in that Apple is trying to make a WIndows like device and Microsoft is trying to make a Apple type interface...
Interesting enough.. I once heard that Microsoft actually lent millions to Apple to help em out. The rumor was that Gates made more money on a MAC sale (due to the bundling of MS Office and other MS apps) than Apple did in the actual hardware profit per box.

They did as part of burying the hatchet in the whole copyright infringement brouhaha - MS invested something like $150M in non-voting stock shares, plus a limited-duration agreement to develop IE and Office Apps.
Mac fans buy lotsa Office to stay compatible with their Win collaborators, MS makes moolah...and so on.
After the agreement expired, MS stopped developing IE for Mac, tho Office 2004 for mac is either almost or in fact on the market.

And how much market share do porsches take? Of course, Mazdas are cheaper and therefore, more popular, so that must make Mazdas better cars right?
And BTW, my mac can run your windows software. And it doesn't crash. Well, that particular app did when I installed Microsoft's new update of Virtual PC. Fuckers buy out everything and ruin it. Anyway, back to the old version and all is right again.
But back to the gist of this. Bugs is right. It's about the right tool for the job. I'm an artist. The software I run is for making art. I used to do it on a windows box, but I stopped doing that after one semester of classes. And if Mac is so misdirected, why did it take Apple making a port of iTunes to show the Windows community how an entertainment interface should work? How long did Winamp and Media Player have to get their shit straight before Apple dropped one app that put both of them to shame?
But the bottom line for me is that there isn't anything that Windows offers (barring P2P networks - Wait, that's not right I'm running Soulseek on my mac) that I can't get for mac. Period... Oh wait, no, that's also wrong. I can't get video games. Or viruses. Shit, you guys are right, I've wasted my money.

In that case, it's in you maccers' best interests to keep enough volume to keep the company and supporting software products alive, but not so much that the virii writers take notice.
Of course, this is hardly an original thought.
I guess it's up to us winheads to do our bit to keep mac populations stable. Just like game wardens.
...and what the heck is ninjaclick?
