Purple Haze all in my brain....

Post by bio » Mon Dec 15, 2003 4:24 pm

I think I might be about done working for a while.

The doc upped my morphine intake and it's become a little difficult to focus on work.

So... I'm gonna talk to the boss and see what we can arrange.

I've got 170+ hours of vacation saved up and I think I may use it to cover for the time I miss up to my surgery. Hopefully, I can work at home to help offset the time somewhat by doing coldfusion development.

Of course, that'll take a laptop (as I'm not installing that stuff on my home pc). Hopefully, the'll find one I can take home.

Wheeee!

I'm sad to hear that it has come to surgery. What exactly are they gonna do and when?

They're removing 3 disks from my spine, and replacing them with ones made of titanium. It's supposed to happen in January... but I don't have a date yet because the procedure isn't approved by the FDA yet (and my insurance company won't cover it if the government doesn't approve it). The approval is expected shortly.

It is a new procedure, but my surgeon was on the test team... so he's done it several times already (I won't be a guinea pig for him).

Should be fun!

I'm not sure of the downtime for this... but I'm betting it's longer than the 4 weeks I had last time.

On a continuing note... my boss as agreed to not assign any more large projects and to get me into a laptop for working at home.
