Meiwes told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag last week: "I am guilty and regret what I did." He said he had eaten his victim because he wanted to make him part of himself, a desire that he had satisfied and that would not recur.
That's soooooo romantic.

In Germany about 200 people on the Internet were offering to be slaughtered, 30 ready to do the slaughtering and 10 to 15 wanting to watch
Wtf?

Well, they're Germans.
If I was German... I wouldn't want to live either. It's almost as bad as being Scottish.

I have to admit that this does sort of sound like the plot of a Fassbinder film. Germans are alright, though. The enlightenment arrived late in Deautchland, so they're given to some weird, awkward moments.
What I find funny is that in a lot of ways, Germany is sort of the U.S. of Europe.

I lived in Frankfurt for 4 years. Germans are very strange people.
