Brrrrrrr....
It's currently 19 degrees (-7.2 c) outside... and the temprature is falling. It's supposed to hit a low of 13 degrees (-10.5 c) tonight.
Brrrrrr!
Unfortunately... my furnace gave up the ghost today and I have no heat.
The exaust fan decided to sieze up durring the day, a fact I didn't realize until after I had been home for a while (and after the temprature in the house had fallen 10 degrees from where it should be). No exaust fan = no heat.
Thank God for the gas fireplace (with blower). But that only heats the top floor. My eldest has a waterbed and should be fine, I put an oil filled mobile heater in my youngest son's room.
So... I'll be skipping work tomorrow in favor of attempting to find a replacement part. Hopefully they'll have it in stock so I won't have to wait till next week, or I'll be saying "fuck it" and buy a new furnace (I didn't want to buy any christmas presenst this year anyway).
Wish me luck.

It's alive!!!
I called the phone numbers that the manufacturer’s website showed for service only to find out that they were wholesale only. Fortunately, the second one I called was kind enough to tell me that they had the part in stock and gave me the phone number of a dealer who would sell it to me.
I called that dealer and he said he would call me back with a price. 10 minutes later, he did just that...
$459
OMFG!!! *gasp*
It's a fucking plastic blower with a small electric fan! Bejesus!
Thank God Al Gore invented the internet! I told him that I found it online for $258.23. After a few seconds, the guy said he'd match that price, plus tax if I gave him the url. I guess you're not supposed to sell online at wholesale prices. (whatever)
So, long story even longer, It's fixed.
