SP3 has been in development since before Vista was launched if my memory serves me correctly. And if they weren't writing service packs for two different systems, I imagine either of them would have gotten here quicker. I'm definitely looking forward to the XP pack, but I'm a little hesitant because this version of XP is the most stable build of Windows I've ever worked on. It'll suck if SP3 drops and abandons the OS in a state of disarray. I'd normally wonder how something in development for two years could really get botched, but then there's Vista.
And PS: Every time I try to read a column by Ina Fried, I spend half of the time trying to make something funny out of his name and half of the time looking at his banner header. He really freaks me out!

I'm sweating that one too - I wonder if you can lock out the SP3 update if they hose it up like you can lock out IE7. Since my shop has no intentions of running IE7 or Vista (the former because it does not play nice with our radiology imaging software, and the latter because it is a resource pig), if M$ hoses up SP3, you can be sure we will avoid loading that pooch.miftah wrote:I'm definitely looking forward to the XP pack, but I'm a little hesitant because this version of XP is the most stable build of Windows I've ever worked on. Naah, Ina went at least partway - I saw a vid of Ina interviewing Bill Gates.

I've now resolved both of my diverging Ina distractions and have officially renamed her/him Ima Fraid.bugfreezer wrote:Naah, Ina went at least partway - I saw a vid of Ina interviewing Bill Gates.
