While quite aware that starting a discussion about religion or politics on a forum is like dowsing yourself w/ gassoline and having a cigarette, this hits a bit too close to home (literally).
I saw this little turd on the net and thought I'd share. While having no knowledge of the man, heart goes out to Sgt. Craig's family and friends. They deserve better, and his memory deserves better.
Just wish I could think of something productive to do with these pig f@#kers.

We love talking about Westboro here. See threads here and here, though if I were to get really ambitious looking for more I'm sure they're around.
They actually announced that they were going to protest Heath Ledger's funeral, but I guess since it was set to happen in Australia, that proved too expensive for them.
They thrive on attention and do outrageous things to get in the papers. They realize that the more idiotic they act, the more people talk about them and the more they end up in the national media, where they can spread their message to a broader number of people. The irony in this is that they actually do more for gay rights than for their own cause. Which is funny.
These folks are nothing to do with religion. Hard to imagine Christ welcoming any of this tornado-bait to the table.
