Floodgates Bursting?

Post by Rocketdork » Thu Nov 01, 2007 7:52 am

Remember that church that protests at funerals? This may deter them some...at least I hope it does.

They spew so much hate, its nice to see them get theirs...

I hope this signals the floodgates bursting for them. I hope that all those that can step up and sue. I hate all the sue happy people out there, but this and the one that shut down the compound in Hayden are GOOD.

Let's see, I tend to hate all of those sue-happy folks trying to get a buck without doing any work, but these guys are justified.

The only thing I hate more than sue-happy lazy people are gung-ho religious fanatics with no logic to any of their arguements. Who goes protesting at someones funeral? What a lack of compassion does someone need to do this sort of thing?

And claiming that these dead soldiers is God punishing us for homosexuality?! WTF, these people make about as much sense as our president.

It sickens me to see these people claiming that they are rightuous and good and pure because they have a relationship with the infamous "God" and then turn around and do these incredibly hurtful things to innocent people who are just grieving the loss of a loved one. If they were good people, they would have stopped to consider what effect they are having on these families. It seems that a nice solid blow to the pockets is the only solution. I hope those bastards pay up.

Deater, trust me when I say that this isn't a opportunistic lawsuit - its the only way to stop these f***holes. All their kids have law degrees (well, most of them) and at least one of them works in the State Attorney's office, if I've been informed correctly.

But I would imagine there's going to be a healthy number of appeals and with good reason: even if they cannot pay, if this holds up, precedent will have been established, opening the floodgates to additional lawsuits. Additional lawsuits will task their resources for defense, and given a long enough time line, these actions will carry too much legal liability for them to continue (especially if the church is bankrupted, dissolved and the civil suits instead get aimed at the individuals.

Either way, this is a step in the right direction.

EDIT: On further review, it seems Rocketdork already made all of these points.
