What happened to freedom of speech?

Post by Deater » Wed Sep 19, 2007 10:39 am

this guy just wanted to have his voice heard in a peaceful manner and was tasered for it.

After seeing this video yesterday there was a large section on the news that had interviews with several people who had been arrested for peaceful protest. Most of them for trying to protest Bush rallys and Hilary Clinton rallys.

I don't blame Kerry for this one, it sounded like he was ready to address the gentlemans's question. Kerry himself has done quite a bit of peaceful protesting in his day.

Maybe it's just me, but if I were running for any kind of office I would like to have people around me that disagree and question my decisions, it would add a new perspective for me to examine. One problem with Bush is that he is surrounding himself with "YES Men" who agree with every decision he makes. If they don't agree, he asks for them to resign, it's that easy.

It just seems like we are losing touch of the freedoms that America was founded on.

I'm not sure I quite agree with your assesment of the Bush administration. I think you've got it a bit backwards, he's not the idiot, and he's not surrounded by yes men. I'd suggest that he's surrounded by idiots and he's the yes man. A technical difference, I'd agree, but I believe it's an important difference.

either way, he's an idiot. He chose the yes men, if they are idiots, so is he for agreeing with them.

Alright, they are all idiots because they are yes men. This is the whole administration. Integrity and a brain makes someone un-fit to be a part of it.

Wow...that was on many levels wrong, and like some of the people said on that forum, why didnt kerry tell the cops to let him go cause he was and did answer the question. this makes a good point that we need to do something about this...if 1 kid in each college, high school, open descusion or any kind of public gathering did this and was in the right when law inforcements in the wrong we will have a good start on bringing back freedom of speech that has been being takin away little by little!

This the same guy who stood by the bookstore holding a large sign that said "Hairy Dies" on the opening day of sales for the latest Harry Potter book.

In my opinion, he went there looking to cause as much shit as he could. He wanted this to happen (he's apparently an attention monger from what I've read). Nope.... no bad feelings for him from moi.

Taze him for me, will ya?

I hope there's some unknown backstory that proved she deserved that. I once traded tazer shots with Marilyn Manson. He took two to my one (and I think mine was on lowest power). There's no mistaking it though... That shit hurts like the touch of death.
