After I thought more about it, I realized that those of us with children have been doing the french fry experiment for years in the car.

There is one huge difference between the burgers and the fries that might explain why the fries didn't break down... they have never been touched by human hands.

The buns of the burgers came into contact with at least the narrator's hands (assuming, of course, that the kids at McPukes were wearing gloves that were sterile... and that's a mighty big wish). All kinds of nastiness lives on your fingers.

The fries, however, were dumped from a bag into a basket, and then into a fryer. After that, they were dumped into a hot tray for salting, and then scooped into a cardboard holder with a metal utensil. From there, the narrator dumped the contents of the box into the jar. They most likely never touched anyones hand, and therefore, didn't pick up any nasty ass bacteria.

It doesn't hurt that they're also made of plastic.

Or he's just baffling us with bull shit...

I've seen fries in my car (found under seats etc) from the major fast food places...we touched them...they survived for an astounding amount of time.

OH, we don't eat at the major fast food places anymore.
