No damn time for me
I'm sorry that I've been somewhat absent as of late.
I have a ton of work to get done, and more is piled on daily. I've also felt like complete shit for the past couple of weeks, so I haven't much felt like posting.
I do see my neurologist on Monday the 25th (I made that appointment months ago). Hopefully, he'll have something that will help me.

Dude, you starting to look at neural implants? There's a new doc in town with license to implant them. My father in law is having one done due to a degenerative vascular disease in his legs. He can't walk much anymore as it hurts too much. He was fitted with a temporary implant a couple of weeks ago and as soon as he came by the house, he beat me in a race down the street. To my defense, he hasn't had a cigarette in 3 years and has been going through any number of different physical therapies over the same period and I'm.....bio wrote:It went a little like this:Good times, fo' sho'!Bio at the Neurologists wrote:You're gonna do what? ...still working on all that

If you haven't looked at it, let me know, I can get you the doc's number.

Re: Q
I've been reading up on them. They sound very promising.ironpants wrote:Dude, you starting to look at neural implants? There's a new doc in town with license to implant them.
I wish I had had this issue in Europe. There, the motto is "refuse to fuse", and they have alternative treatments that would have fixed my ass in a big way without destroying my back.
*sigh*
Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of the waiting game (6 years of feeling like total shit every moment of every day is starting to wear the fuck outa me).
On Saturday, I had to go in for some more tests. Nothing to eat or drink after 8:00 pm, then get to the lab around 8:30, wait until 9:00 before they call me, have them draw 9 vials of blood, drink some sugary shit that tasted like flat sprite syrup, wait an hour, have them draw more blood, wait an hour, still more blood, one more fucking hour, then more blood comes out (they can't get enough of my mojo!).
Good times! I get the results back on August 27th (why the OMFG long wait is beyond me).

Just to keep you up to date, the fatherinlaw had the temporary removed, he had to then wait a week which made him cranky as all get out. He had the final implant put in the other day, but there was a slight complication, the electrode moved so they went into surgery a second time. All looks well at this point, but he's not supposed to move much for a couple of weeks while the new equipment settles in.
We're scheduled for a rematch on the race down the street, I'll keep ya posted

That's really astounding what you have gone/ go through every day. It’s obviously hard to draw comparisons, but the 3-4 months of rehabilitation of 2 torn rotator cuffs drove me mad. And that was relatively better after 2 months. 6 years, and the constant invasive testing... man. Keeping your temperament in check must be a struggle.
And WTF with 6 weeks to get test results?? Just to make this more tortured I guess. So... do they pull out your neck hair on the way out, just as icing on the cake?
