Wii is teh Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Post by bio » Mon Apr 23, 2007 10:12 am

I set out with a plan this weekend: to get a Wii for my kids.

BestBuy (aka: Those Fuckers) had advertised that they had Wii's to go on sale Sunday. They guaranteed a minimum of 12 units per store. I had it on good authority that there were 21 units at the Northpoint store here in Spokane and made that my target of opportunity.

I double checked their hours via the website (they open at 11:00 am on Sunday) and planned my arrival to claim the much coveted item. My son drove me and we arrived at 10:30... and they were already open.

Those fucks opened an hour early (without telling anyone) and the guy at the counter said they were all out of Wii's.

Fuck!

Luckily, my mother-in-law was at the same store an hour later (11:30) and they happened to notice two Wii's on a counter. She asked if they were for sale (they were), so she grabbed one and called me to see if I had gotten one or not.

Apparently, BestBuy is staffed with lying bastards!

Man... this thing is cool! I love the Wii Sports game that ships with the unit (baseball, boxing, bowling, golf, and tennis). She picked up an extra controller and the Paper Mario game. It also has built in wi-fi, so I was easily able to connect to my wireless router and download all the updates.

It's totally fun to play, and I actually broke out into a good sweat after a bit (bowling and golf are my favorite games so far).

A buddy of mine has one of those, it is pretty cool.

I'm thinking of getting one, but prolly after Halo 3 beta, I'll be busy with that for a good 3 weeks.

Remember back when you first started playing video games and you moved the controller around and stuck your tongue out while making a funny face, just trying to get Mario to jump? (or maybe it was just me) With the Wii, that actually seems to be a normal thing. Yeah, a little closer to normal.

This is NEW information to you?? :)
Just one more reason for me never to buy something from them. Glad you got your "unit" though, that's cool. I thought you weren't into console games though?
I finally picked up a wireless adapter for the 360 this weekend as well as Call of Duty 2. Nice to be able to get all the updates as soon as you put the game in.

I may have to stop by some time and see what all the hype about the Wii is. Cause seriously... I still don't get it. Maybe I'm just getting old. Dammit.

This IS the place that has their own internal website with differing prices than what's on the actual website.

Nice. It doesn't surprise me. Their practices are just horrible. Makes me wonder how many other stores are just as bad.

I see to remember there being more mii codes in here. Now that I am in possession of one, it is worthwhile for the hookling up.

Welcome to Wii, miftah!

I still haven't figured out what to do with that code, but to be honest, I haven't really researched it either. I've only played on it a few times.... my kids on the other hand, live on it.

We picked up the newest Zelda and Paper Mario. The kids are very much into Zelda (I just watch).
