Happy Sunday Morning!
What? It was just metaphor? If this is true, it would seem a lot of people died for no good reason. Oh wait... killing in the name of the Prince of Peace is stupid anyway.

Wow, if that doesn't shake my foundation of Christianity...
Wait a minute, I find that my beliefs don't really follow Christianity anyway, I guess I'll go back to life as usual now.
It would be interesting if they could *prove* without a shadow of a doubt that this is Jesus' body...it would shake the world. Or maybe not, I am sure that there are enough people out there that would just refuse to see the evidence and go on believing...but then again, maybe the Jews were right!

Are they saying that things may have been made up? That the miracles are nothing more than folk lore? That stories that got bigger and grander as time when on?
Why... that would put Christianity in the same category as Greek, Norse, or Egyptian mythology.
Of course, it's a well known and proven fact that God is REAL, unless explicitly declared INTEGER.

Um... yeah (though it's not obscure).Rocketdork wrote:Is that some obscure programming reference? You totally lost me.bio wrote:unless explicitly declared INTEGER.
Integers are positive and negative whole numbers (for example, -10, 0, and 23) while reals are the usual positive and negative decimal numbers (for example, -15.2, 1., 20.3).
I was just trying to be punny.

But that's numerology... and the Church says numerology is bad (yet they still preach with those numbers).Moxie wrote:Man is five and the devil is six. Natch!miftah wrote:God is not only a real integer, he's also prime. I heard in a song that God is Seven. That God is Seven. That God is Seven.
As for 666 (or 616, depending on who you believe), there are lots of theories on that (I prescribe to none of them).
Actually... I don't buy into any religion. To me, it makes little sense to prescribe to something that can't be proven. I'm not against someone having faith... if it works for you, that's fine by me. I'll not mock you for it or try to change your ways, I just ask that you do the same for me.

I've often wished that I could be one of the true believers. My secret worry is that there's something broken in me that prevents me from buying into anything to that level.
Even the religion that I do subscribe to, I use all these mealy mouthed phrases such as "it's a visualization for how the universe works" instead of an actual faith.
