Want an iPhone?
With all the buzz (and pending lawsuit) over Apple's new iPhone, people are wanting them.
Of course, you'll have to be a Cingular customer to get one... and you'll have to wait about 6 months (longer, if Cisco's lawsuit goes to court).
But why wait? You can have one now!!
Just print, cut, fold, and paste!

The good news is, if this takes off like I think it will, this should cause other carriers and phone manufacturers to step up quite a bit. I'll be interested in seeing if Microsoft tries upping their product. I'm only interested in it from the fact that I have a Treo 700w and really like it. But it is a Windows Mobile phone and has it's issues. With the nice interface MS seems to have made for the Zune, hopefully they can come up with something for the mobile market. I prefer MS products simply from the fact that they are way easier to integrate with Outlook/Exchange. I know the iPhone is supposed to work with it, but I've tried downloading stuff from Outlook to my iPod and it's just not as nice. I'm looking forward to what is coming up in the way of phones in the next couple years.
I'm not totally convinced apple's got something here. While bundling a phone, mp3 player, pda and mobile video player is a cool idea (MS already did that with Windows Mobile) I'm not sure I could live with the interface.
Here comes the audience involvement part of my rant, everyone take out your cell phone.
Look for scratches and other damage and try and remember how those things happened.
Do you honestly think a touch screen would live through that kind of abuse!?
My last phone was a Sidekick because I thought it was one of the coolest at the time, my new one is an HTC Excalabur which totally rocks, neither of them had/have touch screens as I have a tendancy to drop them.
While I'm quite impressed with all the features they packed in, I think it's lacking the biggest one, durability.

Yea, I really have yet to find a convergance device that actually delivers.
I don't like that the iPhone, while being a PDA, is a closed system. I had that with the Sidekick. I recently left the sidekick for an HTC phone, because of the ability to log into a VPN, and install my own software without being part of a closed developer program.
I'm not sold. It's got nice sizzle, but what's the steak taste like?

Totally agree with you there. I, working for a cell phone company, have to sit through meeting where guys basically try to screw you out of as much $$ for content as they can. "Oh no, we don't want to but that data kit, because people could just use it to songs for FREE from their CDs, let make them pay for ringtones!" Bastards.
JC, I can't even count the number of sentece fragments there, did you reply via you phone or did you hit Friday at 5:00 a little hard

How else can they keep selling 'em?ironpants wrote:While I'm quite impressed with all the features they packed in, I think it's lacking the biggest one, durability.
I like ruggedized phones - I use a sanyo flip one at work via Sprint (we have a contract with them but the reception at the hospital is teh stinks), but they've quit selling those a while ago.
As for the original question, ummm...no.
Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.
