Crocodile Hunter Dead
I'm sure you've all heard the bizarre story. This thread is here so you have a place to grieve.
Irony, huh? It's a bitch.

Mrs. Bugs told me about this last night. Prior to this, she'd hoped we could take a vacation and see the guy in action.
We were quite sad. My oldest wasn't too thrilled, either.

yeah, the wife and I caught that last night too. She actually talks about him in her job as a presenter for Student Ambassador programs, one of them going to Australia. So now she's gotta make sure she takes that part out of her presentation, at least the part where she mentions you could meet him if he's at his park in Australia.
As said, he died as the adventurer he wanted to be.

I find it difficult to celebrate death. I don't care who it is...the most vile on this earth still has a mother, father, brothers, sisters and friends that will morn his loss. I find myself in sympathy with them.
As Deater said, good bye cooky croc hunter. Rest in peace.

So, because the media coverage on this has been overwhelming today, its had me thinking about it. If you're him, and this is what you do, this is about the perfect way to go - albeit, much too early.
Apparently these sort of stings are ridiculously rare. Having nature take you though, this seems the perfect choice. Rays are pretty damn cool. I imagine the paralysis wasn't great, but its gotta beat the hell outta being eaten by a bear or a shark. And if you're him, dying in a car or plane crash would be depressing.
Man. He was stabbed through the heart by a stingray. That's the stuff of legend, you know?

Yeah, I read the full text of her "eulogy", and it reminds me of the fact that while one can be scholarly and great at forming words into intelligent-looking and witty-sounding prose, at the end of the day, it is "out of the overflow of the heart that the mouth speaks" (Luke 6:45).miftah wrote:I suppose it was only a matter of time.

Not to mention the fact that she did not see the videotape of his death, which by all credible accounts so far indicate that Steve was not aware of the ray's presence until that fatal moment.

So she's apparently just about pissed off everybody. You just gotta love people cheering the death of someone in the name of displaying their greater empathy for living creatures. Seriously, she needs to get a laxative because being this full of shit can't be healthy.

Instead of leaving this on a negative note, here's a clip of better times when Irwin was on Conan.
