Point Extraction

Post by Encap » Wed Jun 28, 2006 11:56 am

Well, that's it for me gang.

I'm heading west by southwest.

As evidenced here

You whom what read my LJ know the story, but for the rest of you whom what aren't within my friends lock I will go into it now.

I'm transfering down to Portland, and will be doing the same job I do now, only there. In the coming months, Daks will be moving ahead of me and getting Zeb squared away.

I'll likely be in Spokane until as late as September.

Portland is nice... except durring rush hour.

That pretty much sucks much butt (you go from 60 to 0, then crawl from there... and don't expect a lane change!).

We've talked about Portland-ish as a destination. Google is building a OMG HUGE data center in the Dalls.

I'll pry be here until I die.

Oregan calls to me. Probably not Portland, but I suspect I will be headed somewhere in that state post-graduation, provided I can find a teaching job there.

Are you thinking Eugene?

Also in re: Traffic, I'll be living in Oregon City, and Commuting to Salem for work. It'll be about a 40 minute drive, but it will be reverse commuting. (Also, the houses we're looking at are on 99E which will skip me by a lot of the I5 hurrangotang)

Yea, it's a hell of a market out there right now.

I'm making an offer this morning on a 1920 house in Oregon City. It's a few blocks from the Clackamas River. It's up the hill from the "Downtown" area of Oregon City. Quick Jaunt to Portland, and to Salem.

I keep hearing that Oregan is turning into a magickal pagan wonderland. That's pretty much it. Oh and I like mountains and trees and there are some in Oregan. And I figure any property purchased in Oregan will skyrocket once the ocean levels rise in the next couple of decades and all those Californians homes start floating off.
