Dusting off the Pshop

Post by Encap » Thu Nov 03, 2005 11:37 am

I haven't touched photoshop in a while, but after a brief discussion with my boss about the Star Wars Kid, and how his boys want his dad to make them a wall paper... So I had to pound one out.

Zeb was Darth for Halloween, so I had the makings right there. (I'm still using photoshop 5.0, haven't they gone through enough versions, they're up to letters now?)

It's not great, but it'll do.

Then I showed my boss the rubber stamp tool.

You'd have thought that I messed with the primal forces of nature.

Wait until you eventually upgrade to the healing tool.... You'll posess the power to heal the lepers. Or at least the zit-ridden (it's also quite nice for just smoothing textures).

I just got pshop CS2 but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. I should do that today.

Should be spiffy.

Its not a huge leap over CS1. I don't like the new browse app. It now launches an unneccesarily bloated program to do something that the apps should do on their own (and more to point, used to).

What is the difference between the clone stamp and the healing brush tools? And I couldn't find the rubber stamp tool in 7.0, is that the same as clone stamp?

Heh, I thought the healing tool was a joke.

Daks has CS on her computer. I'll mess around with it. For what I do, I can accomplish things pretty quickly in 5.0

Even though it came out in 1998

The clone stamp grabs whatever is in a selected area and places it where the brush is.

The "healing tool" appears to grab from all around the brush and then blend it into the brush area.

Funny things can happen when you use it on a larger area.. expecially on a face (extra eyes, noses, etc can appear).

It does, however, work great for removing zits... so long as they're not too big :-)
