I got this.
After sitting in the chair for 4 hours, only about 2 hours to go.
My daughter found the artwork, I added her name, she choose the spelling. Its our pet name for her...real name Charla. Going to get another on the other arm for my son. He likes Dragons...

Nice! I take it the next two hours are for shading/color?
I haven't gotten one in about 10 years. I do pine for one now and again, but if I were to get one now, it would cost a fortune. The design that I want to get is rather large, if not complicated. But something tells me when it wraps round your torso, that means additional cost. Just guessing.

I've had the itch for another one too, although I waited almost 9 years between the last two.
I'm not inspired by anything at the moment though. I wish I could just take the whirling dervish in my head and graphicize it.
I think I just made up a word there.....

Yeah, the wings are going to be white, grey and shades of blue...with black tips on the feathers. I think the guy did a great job. The original artwork is here.miftah wrote:Nice! I take it the next two hours are for shading/color?

Yeah, I am guessing that one that wraps around your torso is going to be expensive...The guy I am going too charges $100 an hour for the work he does. Although, he is only charging me $350 for the whole tattoo. He just likes it, its in the genre of the things that he really likes to do. He even took pictures and says he wants to put it in his book. I am guessing that yours would be in multiple sessions, so it would be like installment payments, you pay for the work that they do each session, with around 2 weeks between each session. So save up...
This is my first tattoo, like most I have always wanted one, just couldn't think of something that I wanted on my body for the rest of my life...when my daughter started expressing intrest in getting a tattoo of a Gryphon, I had the thought that I could do something for her...The idea grew on me, and this piece fit the bill. She is going to get the same one in a year, when she turns 18, although, she is going to have it bedded down on a rose. Right now she is thinking it will be in the center of her back. It'll be one more bond that she and I share...
