Ho Lee Sheet!

Post by bio » Tue Jun 21, 2005 8:21 pm

We just had a major storm blow through here.

The winds were insane! They blew my sheets of T1-11 around the yard and stripped about 4' of shingles off my roof near the peak on the south side.

After things calmed down a bit (and much to my wife's dismay), I grabbed my hammer and nailbag, collected the shingles I could find, and went up and put them back on (I'm still missing one, but it'll work for now).

I have no idea what the wind speeds were, but I know they were in excess of 60 mph (97 kph).

You're a nut for going up there...your wife was right. I was scared you were gonna fall...thank gosh it was only the hammer...or else you would have found some nice scafolding (sp?) to break your fall...or at least part of your body.

Yeah, I saw unit #2 spawn to the north of us. It sent some high speed our way before it ripped your house.

Yeah...I was driving home from Bio's and a tree was blocking my way so I had to go in the other lane to get around...

I heard the winds were up to 75mph in some areas. No damage to our house, put our new vinyl fence to the test though and it's still standing. Thought we were going to loose the porch swing though, but it stayed put.

It was bad...my mom said somebody died because a tree fell on their house and crushed them. She heard it this morning. She slept through the whole storm though.

My neighbors had sections of their fence that went down but other than that no big damage.
