He's also has hidden talents .... she's an interior designer, she decided yestarday that carpets are sooooo 90's , so she pulled mine up in the basement!
And other than the fact that she thinks cats are there for excersize she is pretty well behaved!

I thought you said she was overweight in your previous post, I was paranoid that someone was foolish enought to let a husky eat what she wanted

She's not looking bad at all! I've found over the years that Huskys and Malamutes are among the best dogs to own, they've got their quirks (like your carpet incident) but they're execptionally well tuned to their owner's feelings. If you made it a point that that was "bad" I'll bet she never does that again!
Congrats ole pig!

Nope, her weight problem is that she is terribly underweight ... her hips are showing thru very badly, the Vet was worried about speying her because of her weight. Sh'es only been home since tuesday and she really is starting to put on the pounds, i'm trying to make sure she only gets real food, none of that fussy human food stuffs for her, and keeping her excersize increasing daily, that way i think i will have her on top form again in a few weeks.

It's tough to tell underweight from the pictures. I'm not sure I've ever heard of an underweight husky. The norm is overweight, the're wired to eat constantly if food is available.
Congrats again! I'll see if I can't get some pics of my Tundra up shortly

Kewl, i'd love to see
as for her weight, there seems to be a possible explanation, there are certain behaviours that she exhibits that make me think she has been abused... she flinches if anyone makes a sudden movement, she is absolutely terrified when the mrs lights a cigarette, and of course the weight. Like a typical husky though she very quickly forgets that she was nervous as soon as you show her some love again. I think maybe someone was having a hard time getting her to behave like they wanted. From everything i've read Huskies do not respond well to any negative training, and from the people i've talked to who had huskies they all have the equivalent of doggy ADD
She's bright though, she can open doors, she makes it very clear when she is upset with you. I see it as my job as her new Alpha to learn how to be top doggie for her as opposed to her learning to understand me. So far its going great.

I got both my dogs
used too! They both had been abused and flinched quite a bit. After they got more use to thier surroundings they settled down. All it takes is reassurance to help them build thier trust back.
My Golden Retriever never was quite able to shake all of her fears. Her previous owner had tried to gun train her when she she was young and it broke her. Anything loud (including blowing bubble gum) would bother her. We lost her 2 years ago because of this noise issue
My Golden mix is only bothered by loud yelling but she will just leave the room or go outside as she knows it is never directed at her. When one of the girls gets in trouble I have even seen her go to watch

Her worst problem is getting outside the yard. She will not come back. I think her previous owner must have beat her very badly when she got out. I have never beat her and always rewarded her after getting her back which can take many hours and lots of cheese

but she still, after 6 years with me is worried about being caught. You can tell that she want's to come back but is scared.
