No, I'm not in unsolicited email. I'm not in email at all anymore. In Dallas I worked for an advertising company that managed opt in solicited email advertising, but sometimes we ran that up against the line. It is kind of interesting to note, that when I was with that company, we were one of the larger private sponsers of the anti spam laws that were passed at the time.

Now I'm working for a bit of a different kind of advertising company. We've put a realy neat thick client together that delivers an average fo 2-3 advertisers' web sites to the end user. For allowing us to advertise, we give the end user free access to content on the web that would normally be a premium service. One of the great side effects of this is that we can create revenue streams for small inovative web sites that would otherwise go belly up due to bandwidth fees.

The downside to running a thick client for the purpose of advertising, is that you're immediately labled spyware. To a large extent, I can understand making that conculsion, there's a lot of scum out there that truely is spyware. Because they're in the same technical space (not ethical) we are in, we have no choice but to do everything possible to remove them. We're currently very involved with congress to ensure the current anti-spyware bills are enacted as law and enforced. We also expect those compaies we do business with to follow a strict standard of ethics. We're not affraid to enforce those contracts in court.

As you can immagine, working for a company engauged in active litigation somewhat limits what you can and cannot say on the internet, if I've left anything to your curiosity about my current employer, let me know and I'll be more than happy to explain.

BTW, mudflap, when you comming over to the shop for Free Beer Friday?

He did take me to Port Angeles last night in his plane which was really cool. We walked around the airfield, laid on ground and looked at the sky for a little bit and then we flew back to boeing field where we hung around while the plane was refueled and I helped him put it away - then we had some food at this totally awesome diner. I got home at about 2 or so...

I had such an amazing time, and I think he did too. It definitely wasn't a date and I really couldn't tell if he likes me as more than a friend or not. There was some possible flirting (again, just not sure).

But....it was the happiest I've been in quite a while.

Do you know what fuel cost to fly a plane? It was a date!!!

Did you ever think that he is just as unsure as you are? I only say this as I went through this with Lady J too. I think it took close to 2 weeks before we kissed.

It wasn't like I didn't want to kiss her, it was that I felt so unsure of myself that if she was to refuse me I don't think I could have ever seen her again

Give it three days. I know that after I met Lady J I waited that long to call her (and I really wanted to). Turned out she hide for two days and then returned home in time for my call.

I call that just damn good timing.

Well, today there was idle chitchat today, nothing of consequence.

I sent him an email, asking him if he had plans for the night - he called me and said he did have plans but made it clear that it was with a friend....

I told him that if he wanted to give me a call after, he could and he said he'd 'probably do that'
