Someone died at our school!
I can imagine how hard it is to quit. I mean, I want to drink terribly badly and I'm not addicted. And thats why I wont go there.
Now from what I know, there are two kind of addictions, physical and mental. Mentally I think you can get addicted to anything if you feel like you need it to function normally, and in that case, my comparison is relative.

Well I can see where you are coming from there....I mean I am mentally addicted to music...but I am talking this is a chemical addiction. I am saying I don't think you have ever been addicted, so until you are, if you ever are, you won't know how hard it is to get away from addiction. My dad chose drugs over his own family, that is how bad addiction is. When you haven't seen your dad in 5 years because of that, you get the hint of how strong it is.
Ok, I'll talk to you later. I think being drunk is fine, drinking and driving is not. I dont find anything wrong with being over .08 when at someones house.
(10 minutes later) Well, I guess I'll go to bed too. Now that painted is gone, no one seems to be talking. Go figure. I guess I'll talk to everyone tomarrow.

As I've said earlier. I think responsible drinking is where you can still drive. I don't see why people feel the need to be drunk. Don't you want to remember the fun night you had without making an ass of yourself? I don't see any reason in being drunk, you throw up, you have a hangover, and I honestly don't think it makes you care free. Also as I have said earlier, I don't like drunk people, or at least people who feel they need to get drunk every time they drink.

Inflamed prostate glands mean you get to practice a more platonic love life. If the prostate gland is removed (e.g. surgically for cancer or enlargement)...no joy for you.
Guess I won't take up Tea in my old age...I am not much of a cola drinker and utterly despise coffee.

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.

I really try and stay out of these issues, mainly out of respect of those participating. But I've come to a number of conclusions in my old age (I can say that now that I've crossed 30) and I feel the necessity to share:canofcoke wrote:I'm responsible enough to handle myself.
If you feel no remorse for your actions, you may be in the right. However remorse has a tendency of creeping up on you even when you think you're in the right at the time. There are four things that are important to me at this time, my god, honor, country and family. These were responsibilities drilled into me through the military which I had forgotten until there was a digresion. They're stated in order intientionally and recently, I've sacrificed my honor in favor of my family (as mudflap can attest.) I may never find redemption for my actions. If you can, all the best to you, but you have to judge yourself by those standards, if you don't, I fear your subconscious may well for you. Once these issues are dealt with, alcohol use/abuse is a minor distraction rather than an issue.
