Finally, decent music even in Spokane!

Clapton & Cream -- What cool people have for breakfast!!
I wasn't baggin the classics, just some of it isn't for me. I was in Spokane last weekend, and it was a bit tough to find anything on the radio. Modern vanilla pop, good old classics, and the same rock on I was listening to when I left a couple of years ago.
With all the corporate conglomerates in the radio business, it's kinda nice to listen to an indipendant with a lot of "not so pollished and corporate" music.

Eric Clapton is the musical equivalent of the color beige. About as interesting as collecting types of cardboard.
Being obsessed with "the foundation of contemporary music" is like saying the most interesting room in your house is the basement. If its a statement you can agree with, you need to redecorate.

So this seems like an appropriate link to put here....bio wrote:Actually... I did sign up at KKZX's website.
They're sending a couple to England to see Cream reunited. 5 days, everything paid for, and some cash in your pocket. Good times!

While Clapton is not God, or any sort of exalted being, he's very much a worthy guitarist and very much worth listening to and learning from...even if only to deconstruct.
Not that I can play guitar - mixers are more my thing.

Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.

Funny thing about people who missed out when the Beatles, Clapton, Stones, and other break out bands of the 60's were FRESH, they appear to be unable or unwilling to understand the history of rock and roll. Prior to the Beatles for example, the artists had VERY little control over their acts.bugfreezer wrote: While Clapton is not God, or any sort of exalted being, he's very much a worthy guitarist and very much worth listening to and learning from...even if only to deconstruct.

Even when the Beatles first started, "MANAGEMENT" demanded that they wear "uniforms" and the Stones were asked to avoid such lines as "I want to spend the night with you"
Ed Sullivan)
The Beatles were one of the first groups with a large enough following (read ability to generate money), that the group was able to turn the tables on Managers. Songs started to be more than a 3 min formula. Artists could create what they wanted to create and the bands started to get more control over their own efforts.
For those of you unable to appreciate the music, perhaps an understanding of their pioneering accomplishments could be appreciated?
