Well... How was your new year celebration?

Post by bio » Sun Jan 02, 2005 8:51 am

We had a few bodies over... 16 or so.

There was dinner (14 pounds of prime rib, garlic whipped potatoes, etc), many, many drinks, and games (we played Rumolli).

Around 11:30, we turned on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve only to find that Regis Philbin was standing in for Dick (it just wasn't the same). When the hour it, we destroyed a few bottles of bubbly and blew off several dozen party favors.

Good times!

What did you do?

My newyears consisted of dropping of the kids at First Night down town at 8 or so, staying awake for the call in's. At Midnight I heard some fireworks in the neiborhood, the kids called in and they were at Laser Quest. They played at Laser Quest till 6 am, when I picked them up. I had gone to bed at 12:15.

Not even one beverage consumed in casa de dork.

What?? We're in a new year now?

Dick had a stroke or heart attack or something a month or so ago. He wanted to -do- the New Years thang, but the docs advised him against it. I heard a couple weeks ago that he wasn't going to do it, must have been heeding their advice.

As for me. We put Sam in bed about 9pm, and we were in bed shortly thereafter. Woke up fresh on Saturday morning (for my wifes birthday), and went to see "The Incredibles".

Yup, my wife has a birthday that everyone celebrates. :)

I did nothing.
The kiddo and I played Splinter Cell and he fell asleep at about 12:30.

The company threw a raging party downtown Seattle. We rented The Premier (a huge dance club) south of the Stadium, and invited about 2000 of our closest friends. Had a good time, just now starting to recover.

I'll see if I can't get some pics up, it was pretty off the hook.

What venue?

Last time they hit Spokane, they played Outback Jacks, a tiny club that no longer exists.

That must suck... going from playing headliner at massive venues with thousands of screaming fans to taking anything they can get... no matter how small.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen (and suck).
