Sorry, no picts yet...been too busy.
We had a launch to go to over the weekend, and planned to take the trailer on its maiden voyage. Leave time was anticpated to be around 5:30.
Picked the trailer up on Friday...it went something like this.
Arrived at the place at 11am, we had an appointment to wire the van with the trailer lights and electric brakes. Dropped the van with them and took the pickup out to shop for the final things we needed prior to leaving. Finished up around 1:30 and the kid and other half decided it would be best to leave me at the place, and they would return home to finish preperation for leaving.
I hung out until about 2pm when the told me they were running a "bit" behind. Long story short, they didn't finish with the wiring until around 3:30...then they discovered the black water (sewage) tank was full and they had to dump it. The guy doing the wiring left to dump the tank and they had another guy waiting to pick up his trailer. His son had just gotten beat up (knocked out) and he had to take him to the hospital. So we hooked his trailer up and he left. The guy dumping the tank got back about 4:15 or so and we hooked the trailer up to the van. The receiver hitch was only about 3-4 inches off the ground.
Well this wasn't going to work. They wanted $400 for an equalizer hitch, not what I wanted to pay, but it had to be done. Got the hitch, put it on the van and pulled away with enough clearance to be safe. It was 5:15.
I had to pick up my son at the airport at 6:00, so I went directly there. Finally left for Mansfield at about 8:30 pm and arrived at about 11:15pm, set the trailer up and was in bed by midnight.
The gas milage on my van pulling the trailer is about 12mpg...down from the 22-23 I usually get. That just sux, but its worth it for the comfort that the trailer provides.
The rocket launch was just a bunch of fun...
