Well... that and a red swingline stapler... but that's never gonna happen :-)

Easy to see why. As they start their presentation, they're doing the robot equivalent of the Airplane Dance. Only without swinging any USB2-compliant appendages.

And speaking of crap I want for Christmas... Serenity is out on DVD december 20th. That's gotta be the fastest turn-around from the big screen to DVD I've ever seen (just a few months).

But worry not, my financially challenged friends, for I will purchase it myself, wrap it up, and put a tag on it saying "To Bio, From Bio". It's covered :-)

My fist shakes with anger, every time I think of that movie.

Hollywood spends so much money trying to get me to like things that I won't like.

You'd think they'd drop some cash on things that I will like as well.

I don't know... I've looked at Wheddon's stuff (both this series and the Buffy canon), and to be honest with you, it really seems like its only suited to a cult audience. I wouldn't say its smarter or more or less interesting than anything else out there, but it certainly didn't seem like it was suited to be loved by the masses. It's awesome that it got made, but I don't think the studios had any illusions about this thing being more than the niche material the TV show was.

And the quick turnaround is nothing to do with its popularity. Its because five days after it comes out, there will be a holiday of gift-giving and most entertainment companies are clearing the decks the best they can to give you everything you could possibly want on your christmas list. For those of us with itchy impulse buying fingers, that adds up to an expensive December BEFORE gift-giving.
