My mechanical engineer will specify his shaft length for his design today in a followup email. It should be no longer than 4 inches or so.
The other shaft specifications follow:
0.250" OD
1/4-28 Thread pitch
0.250" Thread Depth, one end only.
Rockwell Hardness 60-65C
Straightness tolerance: 0.001 to 0.002 per foot.
OD tolerance: -0.0005" to -0.001"
Finish: 8-12 micron RMS
Chamfered ends?: Either way.
Depth of annealing on threaded end not to exceed 2X thread depth.
Depth of annealing on non-threaded end is zero.
Domed threaded rod end.
Also, can you include a quote for cutting the bare rod end off at a 60 degree angle and deburring?
