NHL... R.I.P.

From EPSN's NHL site

Probably doesn't mean much to most of you but it really pisses me off. In the end it comes down to about 6.5 million in difference between the players union and the NHL, that's flippin beer ads for a season. The bigger implication is that the NHL may never start up again. Without any type of deadline now, there is no pressure or incentive to continue talks. So who knows if there will be a season next year. Anyway, so that's it for the year. I can only hope someone will come to their senses and work things out before Sept. Greedy bastards.

There's more to it than just the games not being played.

How many people lost their jobs because of this? Normal every day people?

Think of the people who work the arenas: selling soda, cleaning up, manning the parking lots. What about the lost revenue for the hosting city and other businesses.

Hotels, rental cars, resturants, bars... not to mention the taxes raised for sales.

Greedy bastards.

I think this should happen for sports like baseball, basketball and football too. I think the greed is way too high.

However, to Bio's point, I also think it's shortchanges the people who work under it.

However, brain just kicked in here. . . I'm sure most of the facilities that otherwise would have hosted NHL games, will now fill the schedule with something different. Who knows, it could be the next big thing like

Rollerball
