Hydrazine is bad, M'Kay

Post by Rocketdork » Thu Jan 13, 2005 8:16 am

This Story from the BBC talks about the enviromental impact of the russian space program. I wonder what ours is doing?

As far as I know the US doesn't use large quantities of Hydrazine in their rockets...its mostly Ammonium Perchlorate, or LOX/Hydrogen. They do have some small rocket motors that use it, very small, I've launched bigger rocket motors.

Hydrazine is bad stuff. I once heard somebody state that the only thing good about Hydrazine was that it isn't radioactive...a powerful statement.
