Poor Margaret Anderson just had a senior moment that landed the 79-year-old Floridian in the clink. Granny, get your gun out of the carry-on luggage:

Now -there- is a classic!

However, I find this a little disturbing. I read not too long ago about another similar incident with a gentleman who was a regular shooter. In this one though, he didn't have a gun, but instead, a magazine full of rounds had slipped under the bottom stiffener in his carryon bag. He'd unloaded the bag, and packed for a trip, but hadn't noticed the magazine under the bottom.

Security got him, and he ended up in a lengthy conversation about keeping the magazine but throwing away the bullets. They wanted to keep it all and throw him in jail, etc.

The story ended with him convincing the TSA to let him keep the magazine, and they offloaded the rounds. He got on his original plane.

So in this case, I think it would have been much easier to just figure the old lady -forgot-, check out her story, and let her go, confiscating the gun and it's unique case of course.

I'm mean c'mon, you gotta figure by the time she got it out of her bag, out of the bookcase, loaded, and fired, she'd have been dead anyway, from old age.
