Goodbye, good friend

Post by bio » Wed Sep 21, 2005 11:06 am

This really falls under the category of "blog entry", but I feel the need to share.

I had an appointment with my Doctor this morning. I realized that I had forgotten my badge for work so I had to return home afterward to get it. It's a good thing I did.

I found my cat, Darwin, lying in the road next to the curb in front of my house. One of those golfing idiots who believe that a residential speed limit of 25 mph doesn't apply to them when they're late for their tee time had hit him. From the damage he had sustained, they were obviously going very fast.

I loved this cat. Seriously. He was the coolest cat I've ever had. Personality was his strong suit. If there ever was a "man's cat", Darwin was it.

I buried him in our garden and placed stones over his grave. I haven't told my wife yet... she's going to be very broken up when she finds out.

No reply is necessary. I just wanted to share.

Having met the lad personally...my sincerest condolences.

Personally I want to bust the kneecaps of the bastage who did this. Is golf THAT important. As my mom says, "They're just idiots."

Thank you all for the kind words.

My wife and I had a good cry over it yesterday... we're going to miss him terribly. The kids took it pretty well, but there's a serious void at the moment.

I'll see if I can find a pic of him on my hard drive.

Mike didn't take it all that well. He is very pissed...but I know inside he is a little upset. He is just too embarassed to show it. Even I cried...but I am a wee bit emotional.
