I installed it (and the new power supply I had to get just to power it) last night.

Pure polygon goodness!

I did have some issues though. I installed the drivers of my USB drive and something got messed up, so I had to reinstall. Then, my sound was all weird.

I played with the card, moved it to another pci slot, pulled it all together and turned on the onboard sound, etc.... still the audio was freaky.

Then I noticed that when I tilted my head... the sound would be fine, but if I had it straight up, it cut in and out. Apparently, the damn kids must have pulled on the cord going to my headphones.

I'll pick up a new pair today.

Oh... and battlefield2.... it's a dream come true!!

I also don't have PCIx on my motherboard (Asus A7N8X-X nForce2-400).

The 7800 is PCIx only. While it only cost $40 more than the 6800, there's the additional expence of a new motherboard... and then I'd be too tempted to buy a new processor and faster memory.

It's best this way.

A64s only use DDR memory. you can pick up 1X 1GB DDR400 for $85 off newegg. corsair value. good if not OC'ing.

remortgaed your house yet? you may need to :)

cough, choke, die - worth it.

I've got 1GB of Micron PC2700. While it only runs at 333, that's what my AMD 3000+ barton's FSB is (the motherboard will accept a 400mHz FSB, but again... not really worth the price of an upgrade).

I'm good for now... and BF2 looks amazing.

Just join a multi-player game... they'll educate you soon enough

It's very fun, though the default key bindings suck (I use a very odd key assignment myself... everything critical is left hand and I use the right on the mouse).

I doubt that we'll ever see each other online though (time difference + huge ping difference = different servers).

i got a lift from a chopper from the rooftop where i was camping as a sniper. cool stuff. he shot me first though then let me in. i think to get my attention.

i blew up the enemy radar. i tried the guns but i dint put enough explosives. other than the radar, what can be blown up?

I HATE Logitech joysticks :) i am up till 2:00am sometimes. no work.

You can blow up radar, artillery, the control shed, bridges (look for the seam in the texture), and vehicles.

It takes 2 C4 packs to blow up most things (bridges take 3). Some bridges have mulitple points you can blow (so the longer the bridge, the more times you have to place C4 to blow it all up).

It's fun to stick C4 on enemy tanks (and choppers when they hover at the flag). I also will plant C4 around a flag when the enemy gets close. They try to take it, I blow it up (and they fly everywhere).

If you go anti-tank, switch to the rocket launcher, go to alt fire mode (for zoom) and hold down the button when you fire. This allows you to guide the rocket (it goes where you point).

C4 is carried by the special forces (top selection).

You have to put it on the side of the shed (or anything else for that matter)... not on the ground (it sticks to things).
