Actually, I'm sort of indifferent on this one. I've rewatched the originals within the last couple of years, and the truth is the movies are campy and that's about it. I just can't get too emotionally invested in a superhero movie.

Granted, this movie is being made by Singer and that is promising, as the X-Men movies almost transcended that genre. But really, tights is tights and after something like the WTC disaster, its pretty hard to believe in Superman anymore.

Which isn't to say that the original film didn't have its assets...

Yeah Miftah fair points however it is times like that, i feel, you need some alternate reality to believe in.

Yeah most of them do tend to be campy. I am impressed with Singer's versions of X-men that really jump started the genre again though. But as a rabid comic collector in my younger years I tend to give some allowances, not too much though :)

The last 2 Batman films were horribly campy. Daredevil was alright, though weak on story. Catwoman looked horrible. I say that as I refuse to watch it.

My favs so far are the X-men and Spiderman films. Seems like Marvel is having better luck translating their characters to film, while WB/DC comics is struggling to get something decent out.

Then there is Sin City

X men were ok. Agreed with the last 2 batman cute and all. I think the new one with Christian Bale will be much darker.

Loved hellboy!

Here is the first official look at the new Man of Steel straight from WB itself.

Image

Click the pic for a REALLY big version.

I'm now officially afraid they are going to mess this one up. They seem to have the right guy (looks wise), but the suit... European bikini briefs, and maroon instead of red? I see they are trying for the more "classic" look or the old style 50's retro kinda thing. But for cryin out loud. I can deal with the tiny logo, and I actually like the design for the belt, and I can forgive the carbon fibre look of the fabric (that seems to be the "in" thing for superhero costumes), but it's hard enough making the guy look like a superhero in blue tights without putting him in a bannana hammock.

Oh well, maybe it'll look better in action. I hope so. Still it's not as bad as the damn Batsuit they came up with for the last 2 movies. Just my geek 2 cents worth on it all.

Sweet, double post. :)

Did a little photoshoping and came up with this. A little better in my opinion.

Yeah, I'm unmotivated today and haven't Photoshopped in a while. So what?
And here it is with the red instead of maroon. It's a sucky job but that's all I got for now.
