Full *ugh*
We just got back from the Outback Steak House.
I took my whole family and Painted.
Many, many pounds of meat later (plus all the other good stuff), we're back and $240 poorer.
Can't move... must digest.

$10 will make you waddle? Or are steaks cheaper in KS?miftah wrote:Look for a warm rock to sun yourself on. Helps digest the goods. I received a gift certificate for $10 at Montana Mike's Steak House. I will be in your condition soon.

I'm not a big fan of Outback's or Black Angus, they both use tenderiser to cover the fact that they're not using good beef or aging it properly.
And yeah, GOOD steaks are cheeper in Kansas. Matter of fact, the best steak I ever ate was in Burlington KS, when I moved to Dallas. The wife and I decided to quit driving cause it was late and I was tired. After checking in to a hotel, we walked across the parking lot to a steakhouse and the beef was like heaven. The bill was under $40 for the two of us w/ drinks and tip.
BTW, I think the whole room scowled at my wife when she grabbed the A1 sauce (including me) thankfully she put it on her baked potato

The best steak I ever had was in Santiago Del Estero, Argentina...get out the world atlas and find it! Actually better (and MUCH cheaper) than the Kobe' beef in Japan.
None of the growth hormones, the cows are older when butchered and they tend to get good quality food through their lives.
Amazing stuff. Tender, more flavor than I have ever tasted in a steak, and did I mention tender? The steak was seasoned by the chef with only a bit of salt and pepper. Nothing fancy, just the best damn steak ever.
Getting to the steak was a struggle. I tend to be an early riser...so I got up at my normal time, and went into work. It was my last day there, I was flying out at 7am the next morning, and as is traditional, they want to take you out to dinner on your last night (did I mention it was a business trip?). I ask them what time they would like to meet..."I'll pick you up about 11:30."
I guess I knew that they liked to eat late, but I just didn't know HOW late...sheesh, I was hungry when I got there...

The Wolf Lodge in Idaho also makes a damn fine chunk of dead cow.
They have their own herd, butcher their own meat, and cook it on an open flame using cherry wood.
Just don't wear a tie when you go (they have a nasty habbit of cutting it off you, then nailing it to a wall covered with the same).

I'm past my prime now - I used to put away quite a bit o'steak in my heyday, and the porterhouses are my uber-fave - two cuts, one steak, dadgum tasty!
