Change of plans

The idea was to pick up a prime rib for our thankgsiving dinner, but there's been a snag:

My 15 year old son.

He's protesting the fact that I didn't plan on making a turkey. So... after much debate (well... I thought about it for a couple of minutes), we pulled the turkey outa the deepfreeze to begin the two day defrost.

Hopefully it'll be thawed in time.

We're still gonna get the prime, but probobly do it on new years day.

Sorry Eddie (who's coming over to casa de Bio for dinner on thursday).

At Ranch AsaJay, we normally do a Turkey for Thanksgiving.

But about 15 years ago, we broke the Turkey tradition at -Christmas-, and have been doing a tender juicy seasoned hunk of Prime Rib ever since. Oh boy that tastes good.

I was looking forward to it.

We're doing Christmas(TM) at Eddie's house this year, so the holiday meal is in his hands. I have no idea what they're gonna serve (and don't care, so long as it's not Kraft Dinner).

I was totally looking forward to the Prime Rib. Tell you what, do the prime rib, and I'll bring over a Turkey and Cheese Hot Pocket for for Mr. FU. How does that sound?

Thankfully (huh...that's appropriate) Ironpants has offered to bring me some thanksgiving food goodness!

Eddie gets turkey and likes it.

He can cook a prime for Christmas if he wants one

And mudflap... if you want a turkey dinner, just get in your car and drive east for 4 hours. I'll hook you up.

I don't think it's ever even occured to my family to not have turkey on Thanksgiving. We all love the leftover sandwiches with the cranberry too much. Christmas is sometimes turkey, sometimes a big honey-glazed ham, sometimes a roast, depending on what sounds good. It's all about the huge hunk of meat, itnt it? Heh

Over the river and through the woods ...

That is where Grandma lives (for real) and that is where we had a HUGE feast! It was also my wife's birthday AND the day I put our Roadrunner in its winter nest to sit out the winter.

It was a nice, sunny and almost 50 degree day yesterday and I spent a few hours and a couple of 6K RPM shifts before we took the Roadrunner out to feast central.

Available was .. TURKEY, HAM and PRIME BEEF ! anyone else think you could have Turkey AND Beef? I hope no crimes were commited but I can only guess PETA would not approve!

Above is a pic of our table. The photographer had just launched a green bean at his niece.

Mudflap if you want I could FTP you a turkey sandwich.....

One more day off and then Monday morning happens.
