I'm going to dredge up the "selected not elected" opinions with this one.
After the last Presidential Election, many municipalities, counties, states, etc. have tried to go down a more efficient, less-prone-to-error, voting method. One such company is Diebold.
Now I know a lot of you may not read /. but some of us do. The thing is, all throughout the last three years, I have seen too many stories that look like this one.
So it just strikes me, instead of introducing better and more accurate voting, we are in reality introducing more of an opportunity to "stuff the ballot box".
Of course, I would say anyone caught doing so should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But what happens when a candidate gets 90% of the vote and someone cries foul? How do you reconcile the votes if the system has been hacked? Have another election? How do you recount?
Just food for thought.
