I've seen things like that before, and while the evidence appears to be initially compelling, it all falls apart after a brief investigation of the facts.

There are items we've left no the moon that we've used from earth. Specifically, the retro reflectors that the Apollo missions placed up there (for pointing lasers from the McDonald Laser Ranging Station at to get a definitive distance between the earth and the moon). They routinely shoot a beam to the following lunar locations:
  • Apollo 11 Site at Tranquility Base
    Lunakhod 1 Site at Imbrium
Apollo 14 Site at Fra Mauro
    Apollo 15 Site at Hadley
    Lunakhod 2 Site
One of the largest claims in support of the "we never went" theory is that moon rocks are pretty much exactly like earth rocks. Well... if you subscribe to the giant impact theory of how the moon was created, that pretty much kills the theory.

You also have to look at how many people were involved with the lunar launches. Not all of them were military, many were civilian contractors. It's hard to keep that many people quiet, no matter what threat you have to offer. If this was a fake, real data to substantiate these claims would have shown up decades ago.

Of course, people who subscribe to the "moon hoax" theory also firmly believe in the face on mars.

Of course, like the bermuda triangle and the bible code, it makes for great TV and sells books, so the rumor will continue on while there is a financial gain to be made by propogating it.

I subscribe to the theory that Bio Photoshopped the entire moon graphics thing and that Rocketdork did indeed dump those reflectors on the moon.

Of course we do know that for some reason the Russians quit trying to go to the moon. If we never did, why did they not one up us? (again)

DAMN IT, I've been caught...

Of course the "footage looks crappy", have you seen a news show from that time? It looks crappy too. They have a nice studio and it still looks bad, NASA had to find a way to send a camera on a rocket that was >90% fuel...remember the MILLIONS of pounds the rocket weighed? They only delivered a 600lbs payload...camera space was limited.

We-ell, my father-in-law subscribes to that theory as well...poor guy.

y'know, you just cannot please some folks, no matter how solid the truth is.
