Debit be gone (or at least manageable)

I called my good friends at CountryWide today. They own the mortgage on my house and I've been attempting to get a home equity loan from them to pay off a few credit cards (currently, $18, 668.51)

Apparently, I've been approved.

So... instead of paying $700 per month minimum, I now have a $150 payment per month. Of course, I'm gonna keep paying the $700 to buy it down quickly, but it's nice to know that I have some flexibility.

This is also gonna improve my beacon, as the maxed out cards are killing my rating (I've never been late, but having credit cards that are constantly full hurts your credit rating).

Now, the big thing is to not use thus said cards like that. I've got to keep a balance on them, but keeping it low is the key. :-)

<insert my dance of rapture here>

Credit cards scare me... I've yet to own anything that required more responsibility than an ATM card.

Stuff and lots of it!!

Most of it is braces for two kids, a saxophone, and a bass clarinet.

Braces - I feel your pain, my kid needs them too. Good thing his grandma is loaded! hehehe

I'll bet my parents were thankful than I didn't need anything like braces.

I didn't need them either, but my two shark toothed little monsters did.

The money should be here around the end of the month.... nothin' says satisfying quite like paying off credit cards (even if it means a new bill instead).

I got braces so that I wouldn't have to have my wisdoms pulled. Turns out my dentist is short on payments for his second summer home, so I get my wisdomds out this summer.

Sucks to be me.

Maybe so, but it also makes me several hundred dollars less in debt.

I've always been happy to play the wisdom of the fool anyway.
