The veager reference comes from a very old star trek episode...

Heh.... that was the first time you saw the Enterprise with a purely digital bridge... not a single analog dial in the place.

Of course, now it's all lcars (which, interestingly enough, are designed on a Mac).

I hated Star Trek as a kid, when my parents would put one of the movies on, because I never understood what the hell was going on (I didn't watch the series, and unless you do you're screwed when it comes to the movies). The only scene I ever remember liking was when Spock communicated with some whales.

that voyager shit is so bad ass, i love reading about shit like that. 'termination shock' 'heliosphere' who would have thought of that 30 years ago? it's so amazing.
