Stupid cat

Yesterday, we had intense winds. Speeds of 40mph (64.37kph) with gusts up to 65mph (104.6kph). What a day for our stupid cat to sneak outside and then, logically, climb the nearest tree.

My sister (purrcat) found Roxie about 40 feet up the fur tree in the neighbor's yard (just above the level of the deck on the back of my house).

So... purrcat came up with an ingenious solution involving a cardboard box, waterbed rail, duct tape, and some rope.

She extended it out like a gangplank and the cat walked across onto the deck.

Yay! Purrcat saved the day!

are you sure your sister isn't secretly a mad scientist?

What a cute cat! I love the "so - what?" look on her face!

Purrcat must be a big MacGyver fan.

The part that cracks me up is that she had the pressence of mind to call me and ask me where my digital camera was so she could take pics.

It's all about the content, baby!

ya know Bio, you could have just told here where the pellet gun was kept, that way there could have been a skill challenge along with the ingenuity test.

You could have made a contest of it. First one to bring the cat down, either way, wins :)

And no flaming replies, it was just a joke m'kay.

i think by now we all know eachother well enough to know that. mox and i both have strong views on animal cruelty but even she and i can see that this was humor. shit, if mox didn't go crazy of the "dude, you killed your cat" pic then this isn't going to phase anyone here.

Ask purrcat about the cat in her freezer sometime.

 ok, as Bio has forced me into a defense corner, I will explain about the cat in my freezer before he embelishes it.

I lived in an apt, and one of the tenants had moved out, leaving their barely 6 month old pregnant cat behind. I LOVE animals, and decided to take "squeak" in. She was a very loving cat, and minimally pregnant, meaning not too huge at all. So, I stressed over the impending fact that I would have to find homes for kittens. I weighed the options, and after speaking with SEVERAL veterinarians, decided that a kitty abortion was the best solution. Now, as I was not rich, I chose the one that charged the lowest fee. Bad decision on my part.

I took my little baby in for the surgery in the morning, and was ok'd to take her home that evening. She seemed completely out of it, could hold her head up. I attributed it to the anesthesia. When I got her home, I laid her on the floor and watched over her. She couldnt stand, and could barely hold her head up. I knew something was not right. As I was petting her, telling her everything would be ok, she let out a horrific noise, and stretched out. When she did this, her incision came open, and there was a lot of bloody yuck. I immediately drove her to the vet - the expensive one that I usually used. She was DOA. Apparently, the butcher I took her to used no anesthetic, and did not cauterize her on the inside to stop hemmoraging.

Freezer

Ok, I was instructed to put her in my freezer till she was frozen solid. Then I was going to ship her body to Washington State University - which is the big veterinarian school for autopsy. The idea was to put the veterinarian who did this out of business. And dont let Bio tell you she was just laying in there. She was wrapped in a black plastic bag, so you could not tell what it was, unless you opened it.

Anyhoo, summer came and went, and I never did send her. When I moved out of the apt, I chose a nice wooded area closeby and buried her.

So now you know......The Rest of the Story

DUDE

That vet would have been mowed down by me and my purchased-that-day-snowplow THAT NIGHT.

No, I'm not kidding. Not even a little bit. :(

On that same weird (yet happier) note, JC and I watched a movie last night that involved both a cat in a freezer AND a story about a post-surgery pet who's stitches came open... weird. It was called "May" and it was fucking BRILLIANT.

Moxie, I would have bought gas for your snowplow. And purrcat, kudos for your ingenuity, and for trying to do the right thing.

I didn't know there was such a thing as abortions for cats.
