Chrome OS... on your PC

Google is looking to bring it's Chrome OS to a pc near you.... and you can try it today. Actually, you can try before you commit by using a bootable thumb drive with an image of the OS. It's exactly like Chrome OS, just running on your old hardware (and it will apparently run really well on older machines that struggle to keep up with modern operating systems).

I'm in no rush to convert to something that won't play any of the games I have, but this would be awesome for converting your old crap computer into a kid friendly PC that's easy to control content on if you have crotch goblins who want the interwebs.
