Visited an old friend

Post by Gooch » Sat Jan 15, 2022 5:29 pm

and grandfather! He's 91 next month. My aunt made upa story that he was literally dying in the next 8 minutes if we didn't get up to his house. My older brother bought a plane ticket on Friday and we were at his house by Sunday night.

Worse things have happened, we had a good time catching up, BUT, Aunt Betty also gave us all COVID. So that's been fun.

Everyone in my home has friggin' COVID at the moment.... ugh! Thankfully, it's been fairly mild this time (no kicking me in the teeth like last time). And yes, before you ask, I'm triple vaccinated.

Vaccinated doesn't equal bulletproof, but I'm convinced that it made things far less severe this time.

I got the omicron on my birthday of all days. Immediately got banished to the bedroom, and was the only one in the family to get it. Got my booster 3 weeks later.
So I'm hoping I'm fairly bulletproof for a while at least.

Got very tired of watching TV. I was negative a little over a week later. Overall not bad

Glad to hear that things went well for you!

Of course, there's a new variant now, as virulent as Omicron but with way worse symptoms. Yay.

New strains are going to keep popping up as long as there's a population for the virus to easily infect and mutate in. Sadly, there's no cure for stupid or selfish.

Turns out the story wasn't bullshit. Grandpa kicked it a week later.

I'm sorry to hear that. My condolences to you and your family.

I plant to die quietly in my sleep, on the freeway, while I'm driving at over 100mph (not like those whiny passengers in the back seat).
