Apple has issued a warning to keep the iPhone 12 and MagSafe accessories a safe distance from medical devices, such as pacemakers and other implants.

My implant, a Boston Scientific spinal neural stimulator, has an emergency shut off built in (in case you require medical treatment and don't happen to have the remote control on you), where you place a magnet over the device. It's also implanted in my left buttcheek, so putting an iPhone 12 in my back left pocket would disable the device until turned back on with the remote.

Of course, the odds of this happening to me are low, as I'm a tech geek, and like most geeks, I use an Android.

the magnets they use to reset pacemakers are monsters. my coworker had one and it was by far one of the most powerful magnets I had ever played with for its size

I'm not sure if the iPhone's magnets are strong enough to affect anything other than hold the charging puck tight, but the warning was issued.
