Ahhhh... the 80's... when music was fun and meant nothing.
I found the following while dorking around on youtube today. These are some of my favorite songs from the era:

The Smiths - Stop me if you think you've heard this one before
Depeche Mode - People are people - 7'' version
Thomas Dolby - She Blinded me with Science
Tears for Fears - Mad World
Flock of Seagulls - I Ran
Some of these might have come out in the early 90's... I was too lazy to check.
Let's go back to the 80's!

I beg to differ on the meaning nothing thing. A couple of those on that list meant quite a bit to me, personally, and still do.

I was making a generalization, because a lot of 80's music was just calorie free pop... fun to listen to but it didn't mean anything.... no social statement, no incite into the human animal, just fun.
