What happened to freedom of speech?

this guy just wanted to have his voice heard in a peaceful manner and was tasered for it.
After seeing this video yesterday there was a large section on the news that had interviews with several people who had been arrested for peaceful protest. Most of them for trying to protest Bush rallys and Hilary Clinton rallys.
I don't blame Kerry for this one, it sounded like he was ready to address the gentlemans's question. Kerry himself has done quite a bit of peaceful protesting in his day.
Maybe it's just me, but if I were running for any kind of office I would like to have people around me that disagree and question my decisions, it would add a new perspective for me to examine. One problem with Bush is that he is surrounding himself with "YES Men" who agree with every decision he makes. If they don't agree, he asks for them to resign, it's that easy.
It just seems like we are losing touch of the freedoms that America was founded on.
