MRI for moi

I had my MRI this morning.

While I'm sure that there are people who enjoy getting up at 4:30 in the morning to commute across town so that a technician can squeeze you into a tiny tube (giving you the understanding on exactly what it might be like to be a suppository)... I'm not one of them.

To add insult to injury... I had to skip my coffee before the test, lest I feel the burning need to urinate during the hour or so that I need to lie perfectly still.

They did inject my blood with some sort of dye so that it would be easier to see some features (like my winky). That crap kinda burns when they pump it into your veins.

I'll have the results by the 9th.

This story of course made for an interesting conversation at lunch. I think I'll post it to the appropriate section :)

Believe me... that was the worst.

Of course, removing all the metal from my body was a bitch too (these earings aren't exactly designed for "easy on, easy off".

So if you have the earrings on, you would arc like having metal in a microwave? Dude MRI's can't be healthy.

Actually... I think it has more to do with the machine ripping them out of your ears than anything else (from the magnetic forces).

One question they ask you is "do you have any metal in your eyes?".

I'd hate to not know and find out the hard way.

Shouldn't arc...its magnetic fields in an MRI and Microwave Radio Frequency radiation in a microwave. The magnetic field will just yank the errings out if there is any Ferrous metal in them...of course, they don't want to take a chance and ask you to remove any metalic objects. Just be glad you don't have a prince albert!

HOW IN THE HECK WOULD YOU HAVE METAL IN YOUR EYES?

I think Bio should have thought about that a little longer because he has been doing some metal fabrication for the ac/furnace thing a bob. He very easily could of had metal in his eye. No need to worry about that now Bio.

It happens... working in a shop or whatever, and a little sliver of metal from the thing you're drilling/cutting/grinding gets into your eye.
