Want an iPhone?

With all the buzz (and pending
lawsuit) over Apple's new
iPhone, people are wanting them.
Of course, you'll have to be a Cingular customer to get one... and you'll have to wait about 6 months (longer, if Cisco's lawsuit goes to court).
But why wait? You can have one now!!
Just
print, cut, fold, and paste!

Heh, yeah I second that meh.
I have the new L7 Slvr from Motorola but it's the "c" model for CDMA not the "e" for GSM. The E supports up to 2gb of external memory AND streaming Bluetooth music... damnit...

I would LOVE to get an iPhone, that thing is DAMN cool. Gotta admit, the UI on that thing is awesome. But I'm not about to switch to Cingular or fork out over $600 for it.

Actually... the price isn't that bad.
Think about it: It's an iPod, a Smart Phone, and a digital camera... all in one very sleek, very sexy package.
Of course, the whole Cingular thing is totally enough to turn me away from it. They're crapier than cricKet!

Heh, yep. There really isn't a whole lot of reliable GSM in the states yet, Nextel is about the best and really they're not that great.

The good news is, if this takes off like I think it will, this should cause other carriers and phone manufacturers to step up quite a bit. I'll be interested in seeing if Microsoft tries upping their product. I'm only interested in it from the fact that I have a Treo 700w and really like it. But it is a Windows Mobile phone and has it's issues. With the nice interface MS seems to have made for the Zune, hopefully they can come up with something for the mobile market. I prefer MS products simply from the fact that they are way easier to integrate with Outlook/Exchange. I know the iPhone is supposed to work with it, but I've tried downloading stuff from Outlook to my iPod and it's just not as nice. I'm looking forward to what is coming up in the way of phones in the next couple years.

I have to give them credit for the ui... the music covers sitting on the glossy table look is way cool. MS needs competition here (and blackberry for that matter).

I'm not totally convinced apple's got something here. While bundling a phone, mp3 player, pda and mobile video player is a cool idea (MS already did that with Windows Mobile) I'm not sure I could live with the interface.
Here comes the audience involvement part of my rant, everyone take out your cell phone.
Look for scratches and other damage and try and remember how those things happened.
Do you honestly think a touch screen would live through that kind of abuse!?
My last phone was a Sidekick because I thought it was one of the coolest at the time, my new one is an HTC Excalabur which totally rocks, neither of them had/have touch screens as I have a tendancy to drop them.
While I'm quite impressed with all the features they packed in, I think it's lacking the biggest one, durability.

Yea, I really have yet to find a convergance device that actually delivers.
I don't like that the iPhone, while being a PDA, is a closed system. I had that with the Sidekick. I recently left the sidekick for an HTC phone, because of the ability to log into a VPN, and install my own software without being part of a closed developer program.
I'm not sold. It's got nice sizzle, but what's the steak taste like?

Totally agree with you there. I, working for a cell phone company, have to sit through meeting where guys basically try to screw you out of as much $$ for content as they can. "Oh no, we don't want to but that data kit, because people could just use it to songs for FREE from their CDs, let make them pay for ringtones!" Bastards.

How else can they keep selling 'em?
I like ruggedized phones - I use a sanyo flip one at work via Sprint (we have a contract with them but the reception at the hospital is teh stinks), but they've quit selling those a while ago.
As for the original question, ummm...no.
