An interesting
twist on the whole birth control issue.
No hormones, no surgery, fully reversable, and works for at least 10 years (though you can reverse it easily).
Too bad the drug companies will probobly fight it, as there's also very little money to be made from it (as apposed to traditional hormone treatments which can generate thouands of dollars per person in the same time frame).
Kinda makes me wish I had waited to get clipped.

"Men don't like doctors to have anything to do with their testicles"
This, is why it will only appeal to guys who were up for a clipping to begin with. Your average horny joe-sixpack will not go for it.....plus with rampant AIDS in developing countries, should they really be discouraging condom use?

I'm sure you're aware of the suffering in India and Pakistan due to rampant overpopulation. I wouldn't think this would be appropriate for Africa, but in India... this could be huge. Hopefully they can price it affordably for the people living there in freight boxes.

According to the story, they've been able to keep it at around $22 for the treatment. That's a lot cheaper than children.
And no, it doesn't stop sexually transmitted disease, but it's also not designed to.
I would have totally gone for this if it was available when I got clipped.

Hooray! This is EXACTLY what's needed for monogamous, STD-free couples.

You know that's all great and stuff, but the real issue to me is personal responability. If the Nigerians want to ruin their ecosystem, let them. You can't blame lack of contraceptives for a problem with population. Earth to dumbfucks: PULL OUT. Or wear a sheep skin or take some herbs or something. I know it's a harsh judgment but seriously, ignorance is no excuse.
Also let me point out that over 65% of Nigera is below the US poverty standard (surviving on less than $2 a day) The average Nigerian income is about $200-300 a year. Then factor in an average amount of children( 2.5 for US much higher in Nigeria), they're not making enough to feed everyone in their family even on 2 or three incomes! You think they can afford even $22 for a birth control shot?

Earth to dumbfucks: PULL OUT
Do you know what they call a man that uses withdrawal as his only method of birth control?
....Daddy....
