Turns out, Landrovers fly almost as well as they drive :)

A few years ago, when my wife bought her Pathfinder, she mentioned she always wanted a Landrover. Being the atentive husband I am, I bought her a used Discovery about 18 months ago. Please don't get too wound up about the cost of a landrover, they drop in resale pretty fast. When we bought this one, the only other truck in competition was a Nissan with the same age and mileage.
This past Saturday, we were driving out to my inlaws house in the boonies neer four mounds, when an oncomming honda sedan forced us of the icy road at about 35 miles per hour. The ditch was about 4 feet deep and there was an 8 foot berm on the other side of the ditch, my wife tried to recover, but at the last moment pointed it perfectly so we wouldn't flip. After going into the ditch and bouncing off that big old berm, we hit a small telephone pole ( about 6" by 6") scared the hell outa me.
So here's the sales pitch, we managed to screw up both the front and rear bumpers and the hood is pretty wrinkled, but we both got out of the truck healty enough to curse like sailers. If I had any question of the stoutness of this truck, it's over now. If you EVER get hit by a telephone pole at 35 miles per hour, I'm convinced it's best to do it in a landrover
